Home Farm Glamping, London’s nearest glamping site, offers a fantastic setting for that longed for family get together once the lockdown has been lifted.

Set in 100 acres of stunning fields and woodland it offers a space where families can gather and spend quality time together, enjoy the great outdoors combined with the home comforts that some family members could perhaps not do without. The site can be accessed by both tube and train being just five minutes from the end of the Jubilee and Northern Lines or Elstree & Borehamwood train station.

Accommodation consists of either yurts or bell tents; all are beautifully decorated, double and single beds made up with luxurious warm bedding. Each sits on a raised decking platform and has its own outdoor seating area with fire pit and barbecue and the site has six lovely bathrooms with hot showers, flushing loos and heated towel rails.

Charcoal and wood are provided, along with cutlery, crockery and glasses so no need to bring your own. Food and drink can be stored in the on-site fridge freezers. You can do an online shop and have it delivered in advance and a local livestock farm delivers boxes of free-range produce. For those not wanting to cook, there is an on-site café tent where you can pre-order breakfast, afternoon tea or dinner and there are several pubs within walking distance.

There is large barn housing fridges and basic cooking equipment, and a lovely Indian marquee for those much-missed family feasts (with on-site private catering easily arranged if required). And why not organise a real-life yoga session or fiercely competitive family quiz without a zoom screen in sight?!

During the day guests can take walks around the farm, including the beautiful Tykes Water lake and 100 Oak Wood, kids will love the woodland play area and enjoy discovering the nature trail. The neighbouring farm will organise private visits to meet their lovely collection of rescue animals including llamas, miniature ponies, and pygmy goats. There is also a croquet lawn, plenty of open space to play football, rounders or frisbee, and there’s a badminton set and ping pong table available for everyone’s use.

Local attractions include Aldenham Country Park, Harry Potter World at Warner Bros Studio, London Elstree Aerodrome to name a few.

Due to the uncertainty of travel due to the Covid19 outbreak, Home Farm Glamping will be offering deposit free bookings for the foreseeable future, and it is also possible to buy gift vouchers if you just want to give your loved ones something to look forward to when all this is over.

Tents start from £80 per night (sleeping two). The whole site can be hired out exclusively from £1,500 per night, sleeping up to 51 guests.
