Does it really matter what car people choose to buy with their own money? As long as they are paying their taxes and driving safely, I see no reason for this to be a headline story.
I wonder how much of this is driven by independent wealth versus family gifting culture, which is quite different there compared to here in the UK. It would be interesting to see a deeper breakdown of the demographics behind these purchases.
It is fascinating to see how the wealth shift in China is manifesting in the luxury goods market. These figures really highlight how much of the global focus for high-end manufacturing has pivoted toward the East over the last decade.
