It seems the Barbados princess can do no wrong when it comes to music and her marketing strategy. Last year Rihanna stirred up publicity when she said, she ‘wasn’t in love’ with her new album. Fast forward to 2016 and as if by magic she is back on the promo run feeling ecstatic for a plan well executed.

When you look closely at the way it was marketed you find out it was all down to the strategy behind the Anti released which was centred around her exclusive deal with her  Rocnation boss,  Jay Z’s streaming service, Tidal. For those who remember, Jay-Z who released his album through Samsung has kept a good relationship with them and offered one million free download codes to its mobile phone users. Each of those downloads came with a 60-day free trial to Tidal and this has led to her  long awaited eighth studio album released this week going platinum.

The platinum selling artist took to Twitter to comment “You guys legit made me the happiest girl in the world!! I’m so grateful that you appreciate the album! It’s the most rewarding feeling”
